Local Rules

Out of Bounds (18.1): (a) Beyond all course boundaries (fences/hedges/walls, etc). (b) Beyond any line of white stakes bounding the course. (c) Any area beyond a line of white stakes (practice putting greens, practice areas, clubhouse and car park areas, etc).

Immovable Obstructions (16.1): Manhole covers, fixed sprinkler heads, pathways, bridges (outside of penalty areas), telegraph/ESB poles and stay wires, shrubberies enclosed by sleepers, walled tree on 4th hole (all areas of structure – wall, tree, shrubs), toilet - 11th, and other artificial objects such as distance plates, ball washers, seats, fixed signage, etc.

Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Greens (e.g. Sprinkler Head): In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction (e.g. Sprinkler head) is: on the player’s line of play, and is within two club- lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball. This Local Rule only applies when the ball and the obstruction are in part of the general area cut to fairway height or less. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. (Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.) (MLR F-5)

Lake - 13th Hole (Penalty Area): If there is doubt whether a ball is in or is lost in the Penalty Area (lake) the player may play another ball provisionally under any of the applicable options in Rule 17-1d. If original ball is found outside Penalty Area, player MUST continue play with it. If original ball is found in Penalty Area, the player may either play original ball as it lies or continue with ball played provisionally. If the original ball is not found or identified within the three-minute search period, the player MUST continue with the ball played provisionally. (MLR B-3)

Staked Trees (16.1): If a staked tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his/her intended swing the player MUST lift the ball and drop in accordance with Rule 16.1b.

Tee-Boxes/Greens (16.1): If a ball comes to rest on any tee-box or any green other than on the hole in play, the player MUST lift ball and drop in accordance with Rule 16.1b.

Ball Deflected by Power Line (14.6): If it is known or virtually certain that a player’s ball hits an elevated power line or cable, the stroke does not count. The player MUST play a ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was made.

NOTE: Other local rules may be posted on the Notice Boards and around the 1st tee and Pro Shop from time to time.

SLOW PLAY:  Avoid ( if delayed call those behind through) DIVOTS:   Replace or with black bags use seeded sand from sandboxes around course BUNKERS:   RakeBUNKER RAKES:   Place gently in bunker FLAGSTICKS:   Place gently on the ground 

PITCHMARKS:   Repairs yours and any others 

TEE BOXES:   Use golf tees where possible & repair divots, use sandboxes

Are on the fairways and to the side in metres to the centre of the green
